A luggage tag made to remember Kai Tak, the airport that sat in the middle of Kowloon.

The name is not random. In the early 1920s Sir Ho Kai and Mr. Au Tak (Au Chak-man) set up the Kai Tack Land Investment Co., Ltd. and began reclaiming the north shore of Kowloon Bay for a garden-city estate. The company took its name from the two men, and the reclaimed land became Kai Tak Bund. Kai Tak Airport grew out of it, served 73 years, and closed on the night of 5 July 1998, when flights moved to Chek Lap Kok under the Airport Core Programme (the Rose Garden project).

Hang it on a suitcase or a backpack and you can pick out your bag at a glance.

  • Design: Kai Tak Airport
  • Price: HK$93
  • Shipping: allow 3 to 14 days for packing and delivery, Hong Kong and overseas

A small souvenir for anyone who flew into the checkerboard approach, or for family who miss it. Images are for reference; the finished tag may vary slightly.
